Dakota Jakamarra Hampton is only 19 years of age and already is number one passion is his aboriginal culture. He has spent years learning, listening and taking the time to keep the traditions living on.
Not just through his art work but also through the study of native aboriginal bush foods which took him throughout different communities and landscapes to truly inspire his connection to the land.
His family is from Arrente country on the border of the Tanami desert close by is Anmatyerr land that is also part of his family. He used these two different tribes traditional dreamtime stories, which were taught to him by his uncles to create his own unique style that you see in his artwork today.
